HYDERABAD, JAN. 8. The Students Federation of India on Saturday condemned the attack on a lecturer of Rajendranagar Government Junior College, Yogibabu, by a BJP councillor. Seeking action against him and his supporters, SFI leaders said: "It is shocking that a councillor has behaved like a hooligan and created a ruckus in the college campus." In another statement, the Jana Vignana Vedika deplored the assault on the lecturer just because he admonished a student for resorting to copying. It was unfortunate that educational institutions and their staff were becoming targets of political groups, the vedika said. The Government should take steps to prevent such incidents in future, it added.
