HYDERABAD, JAN. 8. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, will launch Rajiv Nagara Bata with a tour of Rajendranagar Municipality on Sunday. The programme is to review citizen-centred services like provision of adequate drinking water, good drainage system, optimum street-lighting, ration cards and urban permanent housing. Rajiv Nagara Bata will be a comprehensive and improved version of Rajiv Palle Bata. Dr. Reddy told presspersons here on Saturday that it was aimed at assessing existing civic infrastructure, ascertaining people's needs and improving civic services delivery mechanisms. His schedule covers Dairy Farm, Suleman Nagar, Shivarampally Dalit basti, Babulreddy Nagar, Sriram Sagar, Railway level crossing, Old Kurnool Road, Gaganpahad, Noor Mohammed Kunta, Chintalmet, Chintallakunta, Hyderaguda crossroads and Rambagh Dalit basti.
State-level body
A State-level body would monitor the programme and the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) would provide technical support for rapid assessment and feedback on town (RAFT). RAFT comprises Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and officials of the Public Health Department and the Town Planning division.
