HYDERABAD, JAN. 8. The Hyderabad district Collector, Arvind Kumar, on Saturday asked the Director of Medical and Health to issue show-cause notices to scan centres that have failed to provide the requisite information under the Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994 (PNDT Act). In a press release here, he asked the DM&HO to issue cancellation orders with regard to the registration if the centres failed to respond to the show-cause notice within 15 days. Reviewing the implementation of the Act, Mr. Arvind Kumar said of the 389 scan centres in operation, 320 centres had furnished information and 136 of them had submitted incomplete information. Such lapses would be viewed by the appropriate authority and stringent action taken as per the Act, he warned.
