HYDERABAD, JAN. 8. Accused of stealing a cell phone and Rs. 1,000 in cash, a security guard threatened to commit suicide by jumping from the second floor of an under construction building at Jubilee Hills giving tense moments to the police on Saturday. The drama, which lasted for well over half an hour finally, ended when relatives and friends managed to pacify the guard and get him down.
Suicide threat
It was around 5.30 p.m. when T. Shiva Krishna (19) went up to the second floor and stood atop a water tank. Krishna hollered he would commit suicide as he was being blamed for the theft at the construction site. The police rushed to the scene and tried in vain to mollify him. His relatives were called to pacify him. The police assured Krishna that he would not be arrested if he wasn't involved in the theft. He relented and came down. Krishna was annoyed that other workers blamed him for the theft. The police said Krishna, a native of Guntur, was working with Indo Security, Kukatpally. He had come to the city a month ago and was posted at the site.
