VIJAYAWADA, JAN. 8. The district Collector, K. Prabhakar Reddy, has asked banks to take an active role in extending financial assistance to tsunami victims. Addressing the District Coordination Committee meeting held at Sub-Collector's Office here on Saturday, Mr. Reddy said people needed financial assistance to purchase nets and boats besides undertaking repairs to the damaged boats.
