Cellphone users' forum constituted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 8. The Customers' Association of Mobile Phones (CAMP) Club was constituted here today to safeguard the rights and interests of mobile phone subscribers in the State. The club aims at seeking remedial measures against `exploitation' of subscribers of mobile phone companies, said S. Sasi, general secretary of the association. He said the number of mobile phone users had exceeded that of land phone subscribers. As against 4.39 crore land phone connections, there were 4.45 mobile phone subscribers in the country. In Kerala, there were over 23 lakh mobile phone users, Mr. Sasi said.

`Withdraw traffic

regulations'

The Chamber of Commerce has demanded withdrawl of the new traffic regulations enforced by the traffic police at Overbridge Junction. In a statement here today, the chamber also demanded withdrawal of the one-way system introduced on many roads, as it was causing inconvenience to the local people and motorists.

Dog show on January 16

The 19th and 20th All India Championship Dog shows being organised by Trivandrum Kennel Club would be held at the Poojappura Maidan from 8 a.m. on January 16, according to a release from the club.

Inter-school quiz

The Sindhu Teacher Memorial Trust at St. Xavier's HSS, Peyad, will conduct an Inter-School Quiz competition, `Tussle 05', for students of std XI and XII. The quiz would be held in the school auditorium on January 16. Details can be had over phone: 2289851 or 9447176697.

Entries invited

Chalachitra Film Society has invited entries for the 14th Aravindian Puraskaram from debut filmmakers in the country. The films made in Indian languages/English and censored between January and December 2004 are eligible for the competition. The award carries a purse of Rs. 10,000, memento and a citation.
