THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN 8. A 60-year-old woman prisoner hailing from Marayur in Idukki district undergoing life sentence at the Central jail, Poojappura, died at the General Hospital here tonight. The prisoner, Achamma, who was under treatment at the Regional Cancer Centre and Medical College Hospital, was admitted to the General Hospital yesterday after her conditioned worsened. She died at 8.10 p.m. The body has been shifted to the mortuary and would be handed over to the relatives after post-mortem examination on Sunday. Central jail sources said she had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the sessions judge, Thodupuzha, on the charge of killing her husband, George.
