This Day That Age
Dr. B.C. Roy, Chief Minister of West Bengal, was on January 8 elected President of the Indian Science Congress for the year 1956-57, at a meeting of the General Committee of the Congress held in Baroda. In accordance with its practice of electing its Presidents two years in advance, the Indian Science Congress had already elected last year Dr M.S. Krishnan, Director of the Geological Survey of India, as President for 1955-56.
