By Our Correspondent

TIRUNELVELI, JAN. 9. Kurukshetra, the North East Zone champion, registered its second win beating Maharishi Dayanand (Rohtak) 51-35 in the four-team Pool `B' quarterfinal league of the all-India inter-zone inter-university kabaddi tournament, conducted by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, at the VOC Stadium (Palayamkottai) here on Sunday. The winner led 24-17 at the interval.

Sheela, who excelled in raids, finished with 24 points for Kurukshetra which had a solid defence throughout. However, Anitha of Maharishi broke through the Kurukshetra defence to score 25 points. But the Rohtak team's defence was weak and it paid dearly for it.

The results:

Pool `A': Mumbai bt Shivaji 31-24; Guru Nanak Dev (Amritsar) bt Delhi 54-31; Pool `B': Kurukshetra bt Maharishi Dayanand 51-35; Pune bt Nagarjuna 16-10.

Saturday's matches:
