Raveena is champion

BANGALORE, JAN. 9. Raveena Shetty bagged the under-14 girls' singles title in the KIMS Tennis Academy's weekend tournament for juniors, beating Mayura Manthani 6-0, 6-3 in the final.

In the under-10 boys' singles final, A. Kashyap beat K. Sriram 6-2, 6-2.

Rashien Samuel and Vishnu K. Jinan will meet in the boys' under-14 singles final, to be played next Sunday (Jan.16). In the semifinals, Samuel defeated Pyara Singh 9-3 (best of 15 games) and Jinan prevailed over Sharan Patil 9-6.

Boys' singles:

Under-14: Semifinals: Rashien Samuel bt Pyara Singh 9-3; Vishnu K.Jinan bt Sharan Patil 9-6.

Under-12: Semifinals: Sharan Patil bt Varun 9-1; Rohan Gaokar bt Anirudh Puranik 9-5.

Under-10: Final: A. Kashyap bt K. Sriram 6-2,6-2. Semifinals: A.kashyap bt Karan Pravendra 9-5; K. Sriram bt M.C. Siddarth 9-3.

Girls' singles: Under-14: Final: Raveena Shetty bt Mayura Manthani 6-0,6-3. Semifinals: Raveena Shetty bt L.S. Archana 8-2; Mayura Manthani bt Onidri Lahiri 8-3.
