United Mission College `A' (UMC) claimed the hockey title beating the host, Shree Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, 4-0 in the final of the VIE inter-collegiate all-India sports meet here on Sunday. Raghunath scored a brace and K.B. Kariayappa and Vineeth Michael accounted for the other goals.
Basketball: Men (league): Loyola College bt SBMJC 74-49; Christ College bt St. Thomas College, Sri Lanka 40-32; Christ College bt SBMJC `A' 63-53; Loyola College, Chennai bt St. Thomas College 83-35.
