KOCHI, JAN. 9. The Sikh community here today celebrated the 339th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th guru of the Sikhs. A variety of programmes were held as part of the celebration. `Prabhat pheries' (`morning processions') were being conducted for the last few days. The continuous reading of the Guru Granth Sahib during the past several days culminated in today's function at the gurudwara, Thevara. Children chanted `shabads' (`hymns') on the message of universal brotherhood and equality as propagated by their guru. The celebration ended with a community feast called `Guru ka Langar.'
