Chathannur leading in schools fete

KOLLAM, JAN. 9. When the results on the third day of the Kollam District Schools Youth Festival came in at 7 p.m. today, the Chathannur sub-district was leading comfortably in the high school and upper primary sections with 141 and 77 points respectively. In the high school section, Kollam follows Chathannur with 122 points and Karunagapally sub-district was in the third position with 117 points. In the UP section, Karunagapally sub-district was in the second position with 66 points. The festival concludes tomorrow.

Elocution (English): I - Nitin P. John, Saint Jude's HSS, Mukathala; II -A.S. Abhirami, GHS, Vattayam.

Monoact: I- Ashwati S. Pradeep, AMM HSS, Karavaloor; II - G.R. Alakananda, AS, HSS, Paripally.

Poetry Recitation (English): I - Lakshmi S. Sriraj, Saint Joseph's Convent GHS, Kollam; II - Atul P. Mathew, Saint Jude's HSS, Mukathala.

Short Story-writing (Girls): I - G. Nitya, SN TVSKT UPS, Poothakulam; II - J. Ashwathy, AMHSS, Paripally.

Short Story-writing (Boys): I -Amal Raj, VG SS AHSS, Nediyavila; II - Praveen Chandran, IPM UPS, Vayakkal.

Mappila Paattu: I - Amjida Waheed, SABTM UPS, Kureepally; II- M. Sumaiya, GHSS, Ochira.

Thiruvathira: I - Lakshmi Raj and party, SVMM HSS, Vendar; II - Anuksha A.D. and party, CSS PMG High School, Karunagapally.
