Petrotech to begin on January 16

NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, will inaugurate on January 16 the fifth edition of Petrotech 2005, which has been billed as the largest conference cum exhibition on petroleum sector. Announcing this today, Subir Raha, Chairman and Managing Director of ONGC, said that the five-day mega-event, held once in two years, would also be addressed by the Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, the Petroleum Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyar, and the Minister for Science and Technology, Kapil Sibal, apart from a host of eminent speakers from across the globe. Petrotech 2005 conference would be held at two venues, Vigyan Bhawan and Le Meridian hotel, and the exhibition would be put up at Pragati Maidan. About 2,700 delegates, including 300 foreign participants from 32 countries, would attend the conference.
