Vinod scalps five

MAYILADUTHURAI, JAN. 10. Vinod's five for 18 and a solid knock of 61 by K. Ramji helped Trusted XI, Chennai, defeat Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai, by 150 runs in the super league of the 12th Kayathur R. Vaidyanatha Iyer Memorial Trophy State-level cricket tournament here on Monday.

In another match, a dazzling 96 by Suresh Babu and a useful 65 by S. Manivannan helped First Flight Couriers Recreation Club, Chennai, register a 30-run victory over Ramesh Flowers Recreation Club, Tuticorin.

The scores: Group D: Trusted XI, Chennai, 204 for eight in 30 overs (Senthilkumar 46, K. Ramji 61) bt TNEB, Chennai, 54 in 12.1 overs (Tamilkumaran four for 13, V. Vinod five for 18).

Group C: First Flight Couriers RC, Chennai, 238 for five in 30 overs (S. Manivannan 65, Suresh Babu 96) bt Ramesh Flowers RC, Tuticorin, 208 for five in 30 overs (G.P. Prabhakar 41, G. Harish 58).
