KOZHIKODE, JAN. 11 . The State committee of Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) today made it clear that it would cooperate with the judicial probe into the attack on mediapersons at Karipur only if the Government agreed to take action against the policemen who remained mere spectators when Muslim League workers attacked the mediapersons. At its meeting held here the KUWJ also demanded withdrawal of the false cases taken against mediapersons in connection with attack by RSP workers in Thiruvananthapuram as another condition for cooperating with the judicial probe. The KUWJ spokesman demanded sufficient allocation in the budget for the inclusion of periodicals and electronic media in the journalists' pension scheme. He also warned there would be an agitation if the Union Government refused to constitute a wage board for journalists.
