Trains delayed, cancelled due to fog

NEW DELHI, JAN. 10. Foggy weather in north India continued to play havoc with the movement of trains on Monday also.

Six trains had to be cancelled while the schedule of around two-dozen trains was badly affected due to fog and other operational reasons.

However, flight operations in the Capital remained normal.

The trains that stood cancelled on Monday were 4023/4024 Kalindi Express between Delhi and Farukkhabad, 4517/4518 Unchahar Express between Ambala and Allahabad and 3111/3112 Sealdah-Delhi Lal Quila Express.

Major trains running hours behind schedule included Mahananda Express (26 hours), Sadbhawana Express (13 hours), Punjab Mail (7 hours), Brahmaputra Mail (7 hours), Tamil Nadu Express (4 hours), Shalimar Express (2 hours), Jalandhar Express (indefinite), Intercity Express (3 hours) and Saryu Yamuna Express (6 hours).

The trains that had to be rescheduled by several hours included Mahananda Express, Janta Express, Sultanpur Express and Satyagrah Express.
