Sri Lanka's New Zealand tour to be revived

WELLINGTON, JAN.11 Sri Lanka will play two Tests and a first-class warmup match in New Zealand in April, reviving a tour abandoned when tsunamis struck the Indian Ocean nation, New Zealand Cricket said on Tuesday.

NZC chief executive Martin Snedden also confirmed a three-match limited-overs series in January between New Zealand and a World XI captained by Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne. The series will aid tsunami victims.

Sri Lankan offspinner Muttiah Muralitharan will play for the World XI, joining Warne in a pairing of the world's two top wicket-takers, and will also play in the later Test series, Snedden said.

World XI itinerary: Jan. 22, vs. New Zealand, Christchurch; Jan. 24, vs. New Zealand, Wellington; Jan. 26, vs. New Zealand, Hamilton:
