Joint Collector to hand over charge today

By Our Correspondent

ADILABAD, JAN. 11. Not many know that Adilabad's outgoing Joint Collector, V. Durga Das, fathered the survey format of the Civil Supplies Department. He was also responsible for the department offering incentives to tribals for using LPG. At some of the video conferences, his suggestions came to be appreciated by the Civil Supplies Minister, G. Vijaya Rama Rao, the Comissioner, Bhanwarlal, and the Civil Supplies Corporation Managing Director, Preeti Sudan.

Mr. Durga Das will hand over charge on January 12, without having completed six months as a Joint Collector. He took over as the Joint Collector on June 22, 2004. This was when the demand for land for the landless poor was taking root.

Already over 14,000 acres of ceiling surplus, vacant Government land has been distributed in the district. Another 11,925 acres will be distributed on January 26. The tedious task of identifying such land was done by Mr. Durga Das.
