Fog hits train services

NEW DELHI, JAN. 11. Eight trains were cancelled, four were delayed and five were rescheduled due to fog and other operational reasons today, according to a Northern Railway release.

Among the trains were cancelled were 4024 Kalindi Express from Delhi to Farukhabad and its return 4023 service; 4517 and 4518 Unchahar Express between Ambala and Allahabad and vice versa; 3111 and 3112 Lal Quila Express between Delhi and Sealdah and vice-versa; and 4660 Intercity Express from Amritsar to New Delhi and 4661 Intercity Express from New Delhi to Jalandhar City.

The trains which were delayed were 2367 Vikramshila Express from Bhagalpur to New Delhi, 4673 Shaheed Express from Darbhanga to Amritsar, 4055 Brahmaputra Mail from Dibrugarh to Delhi and 2303 Poorva Express from Howrah to New Delhi. The delays varied from 4 hours to 6 hours and 30 minutes.

During the day four trains were also rescheduled. These were 2952 Rajdhani Express from New Delhi to Mumbai Central which was rescheduled to leave at 4-50 p.m.; 2406/2412 Gondwana Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Jabalpur which was rescheduled to depart at 3-30 p.m., 2382 Poorva Express from New Delhi to Howrah which was rescheduled to leave at 5-50 p.m.; and 4046 Satyagraha Express from Delhi to Raxaul which was rescheduled to leave at 7-20 p.m.
