TIRUPATI. JAN. 11. The Chittoor district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party today submitted a six-point charter of demands towards making the working of the Sub-Registrar's office people-friendly. According to one of its demands, the office should work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and all denominations of stamps and registration papers must be made available for sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday on all working days. This, the party delegation said, was important in view of the oft-made complaints that stamps and papers were not available and were being sold in `black-market'. In a written representation submitted to the District Registrar by the district (East) BJP unit led by its president, Subbarami Reddy, also wanted that the minimum seating arrangements must be made in the registrar's office unlike at present besides providing basic amenities like drinking water, toilets, etc. The office also must be kept free and out-of-bounds for `brokers' and help-line provided to ensure a hassle-free service to public.
