CUDDAPAH, JAN. 11. Recalling his close association with party functionaries and people of Rayachoti and Lakkireddipalle constituencies, the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Tuesday promised `to do everything for their betterment.' Addressing Rajiv Palle Bata meeting at Netaji circle in Rayachoti, the Chief Minister said he could almost identify every party activist by name. Speaking at Veeraballe, he recalled the overwhelming support given to Congress by the people of Veeraballe mandal in the 1983 elections, when the film star, N.T. Rama Rao, launched TDP and gained power. He announced sanction of almost all the demands put forth by the Lakkireddipalle MLA, G. Mohan Reddy, the Veeraballe mandal president, Vijayabhaskar Reddy, and party leaders of Rayachoti. The Rajampet MP, A. Sai Prathap, sought a special package for developing the perennially drought-prone Rayachoti and Lakkireddipalle constituencies. The Chief Minister sanctioned drinking water schemes, tank repairs, high-level bridges and causeways, cement roads, power sub-stations and housing colonies. He received public representations and cheques for aiding tsunami victims, during his `road show'. Dr. Reddy received good response from partymen and people and participated in inaugurations.
