It then clinched the title at 37-22 without any difficulty. Kurukshetra University finished third, defeating Pune University 35-32 in the play-off, after trailing 18-21 at the interval. While Sheela and Monica raided well for Kurukshetra, Kolkar Kishore was impressive for Pune. Earlier in the semifinals, Mumbai beat Pune 27-19, after trailing 10-11 at half time. GNDU had a comfortable 47-35 victory over Kurukshetra, after leading 20-14 at half time. Late on Monday night in the pool A quarterfinal league, GNDU earned a 24-23 win over Mumbai in a nail-biting encounter.
