UDUPI, JAN. 11. Honeybees attacked 20 persons at Govinda Tirtha on Kodachadri hill near Kollur on Monday. According to the Kollur Police, 20 persons went to Govinda Tirtha at Kodachadri for a holy bath as part of "Ellamavasya." As it was very cold, they lit a fire to warm themselves. The smoke from the fire disturbed the honeybee hives on trees and boulders around, following which the bees attacked them. A doctor was despatched to the area as soon as information reached the police. First aid was given to some while some were admitted to hospitals at Kundapur, the police added.
