COIMBATORE, JAN 11: On the inaugural day of the five-day Pongal music festival organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Kendra, on its premises in R.S. Puram on Wednesday, eminent musician, Thanjavur V. Sankara Iyer will be conferred the `Sangeeth Samrat' title. Mandolin U. Srinivas, U. Rajesh and party will perform on the first day. There will be music recitals by Sanjay Subrahmanyam, N. Vijay Siva and party, Sudha Raghunathan and T.M. Krishna.
