PAP water release put off

TIRUPUR, JAN. 11. Release of water for irrigation from Parambikulam Aliyar Project for the third zone scheduled for January 10 has been postponed to January 16, following a request from the farmers.

According to Public Works Department officials, they were ready to release water on Monday. Presidents of water users association have requested them to defer it for a week.

Around 98,362 acres of land will get water through the canal.
