Shinde, YSR greet people on Sankranti

HYDERABAD,
JAN.12
. The Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, and the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Wednesday greeted people on the eve of Sankranti.
In his message, Mr. Shinde described the festival "as a moment of joy and thanks-giving to nature. In the festivities of Sankranti we re-live our ageless heritage and keep it alive in the midst of the cares of our daily existence."
Mr. Shinde wished that "this auspicious occasion would inculcate in us noble thoughts of love and compassion and resolve to contribute to the prosperity of our State."
Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy wished that the festival usher in a new lease of life for tsunami-hit people. He recalled the good time spent by both young and old flying kites and preparing rangoli as also farmers taking part in the celebrations enthused by a good crop.
