BMP recovers property in Sanjaynagar

BANGALORE, JAN. 12. The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has demolished over 50 huts that had come up illegally on its property in Sanjaynagar and recovered over 6,000 sq.ft of land.

According to an official press release, officials of the West Zone on New BEL Road, MLA Layout, carried out the operation.

Nine shops put up on pavements and drains on New BEL Cross Road in ISRO Layout were also demolished and 800 sq.ft of property was recovered.

Some other illegal structures on storm water drains in the Central Excise Department Layout in Sanjaynagar were razed and 3,000 sq.ft of property was recovered.

During the operation, the officials imposed a fine of Rs. 2,000 on the owner of a hotel for dumping debris and waste on ISRO Road.

Two excavators, six lorries and 50 gangmen were deployed for the operation, the release added.

BDA razes buildings

The Bangalore Development Authority, with assistance from the police, demolished 47 unauthorised structures on BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) land in HSR Layout today. The structures on site numbers 20/1, 20/2, 20/3 and 20/4 included a residential building. Through today's demolitions, the BDA recovered property worth Rs. 30 crores.
