Tata Teleservices expands coverage
HYDERABAD: Tata Teleservices has completed work on four corridors in Andhra Pradesh, taking the total coverage to 1,250 km. The corridors are between Hyderabad-Warangal, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Vizag-Vijayawada, and Vijayawada-Tirupati. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Prabhat Pani, Chief operating Officer, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, said coverage in Andhra Pradesh had increased from 19 towns seven months ago to 198 now, and another 22 would be added by March. On the withdrawal of advertisements on their product `Walky', he said the company had gone to TDSAT as they felt what TRAI had asked them to do was not fair. The TRAI had asked them to withdraw ads as it felt that they were misleading. Mr. Pani said the company does not agree with that view, as company anyway prohibits subscribers from carrying the phones outside the areas where it is supposed to be in.
