NEW DELHI, JAN. 13. A property dealer was shot at by unidentified assailants in his office at New Ashok Nagar in East Delhi on Wednesday. According to the police, R.K. Gupta, a resident of New Kondli in New Ashok Nagar, was sitting alone when two young men entered his office and opened fire from a close range around 8-30 p.m. The assailants fired three shots. While one of the bullets got lodged in his face, the other two got embedded in his hands. Hearing the gunshots, some persons, who were chatting outside the adjacent provision store, rushed towards Mr. Gupta's office. The assailants panicked and fled from the spot on a motorcycle, on which they had come, but not before dropping the country-made revolver. The revolver, which was apparently used in the crime, was seized by the police. Both the assailants had their faces muffled. Meanwhile, Mr. Gupta was rushed to Metro Hospital in Noida where his condition is reported to be stable. The police suspect that a business dispute could be the reason behind the incident. However, the family has ruled out Mr. Gupta having enmity with anyone.
