PONDICHERRY, JAN. 15. The Department of Health here has created and filled 23 posts of head nurses in the Government hospitals here besides appointing a Nursing Superintendent (Grade one) to relieve the existing staff of their workload. A release from the Office of the Pondicherry Health Minister, said here on Friday that the creation and filling of the posts was done in keeping with the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee. The department has also filled posts of one Nursing Superintendent (Grade II), and twenty staff nurses through promotion on the basis of seniority and eligibility of the candidates in the hospitals. Seven sergeants were also posted on promotion in the Government general and maternity hospitals here to supervise and monitor the nursing orderlies in the institutions, the release said.
