Mini buses to link Pondicherry villages

PONDICHERRY, JAN.15. The Pondicherry Education and Tourism Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan, has said that the Pondicherry Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (PTTDC), would operate ten more mini-buses to link Pondicherry town with interior and peripheral pockets.

Flagging off the town bus services of the Corporation on three different routes here on Friday, Mr. Lakshminarayanan, said that the three buses now introduced to connect the villages on the routes between Pudhukuppam and Kanagachettykulam, Pondicherry and Nallavadu and from Pondicherry to Manamedu were only restoration of the facilities that were available in the past.

The introduction of ten more services was aimed at easing the passenger traffic.

The Minister said that the Corporation had also plans to operate three more inter State services between Pondicherry and Chennai and there would also be services from Karaikal to Mahe region soon.
