The Collector, Jayesh Ranjan, receiving a cheque for Rs. 4.58 lakhs from the Additional SP, M. Lakshmi Reddy, and the Police Officers' Association president, N. Chandrasekhar Reddy.
CUDDAPAH, JAN. 15. The Cuddapah district police contributed wages amounting to Rs. 4,58,387 for conducting surgery on patients with congenital heart disease. The Additional SP, M. Lakshmi Reddy and A.P. Police Officers Association district president, N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, gave away a cheque for the amount to the Collector, Jayesh Ranjan. Police personnel had contributed Rs. 4.58 lakhs for the cause to the Cuddapah RDO, Khaja Mohiuddin, last month. Meanwhile, the Chinna Chowk panchayat ward members, donors and traders in the panchayat contributed Rs. 3.57 lakhs for congenital heart patients and the tsunami relief fund. The Collector received cheques and demand drafts from individuals at a programme organised by the Zilla Parishd Chairman, K. Suresh Babu, on Saturday. An NRI and founder of the NGO, People's Seva Samithi, Rachupalle Upendra and his wife, Shilpa, donated Rs. 2 lakhs for heart surgeries, to the Collector today. The Secretary of C.P. Brown Memorial Trust, J. Hanumath Sastry, donated Rs. 5,000 for the tsunami-hit and Rs. 1,500 for children with heart disease.
