NEW DELHI, JAN. 15. A fire broke out in a multi-storey office complex in neighbouring Gurgaon today. No one was injured in the blaze, which was brought under control within a couple of hours. According to the Gurgaon Fire Service (GFS) spokesperson, the fire broke out on the 10th floor of the 15-storey Cyber Green Building at Udyog Vihar in Gurgaon around 2-45 p.m. . Nine fire tenders of the Gurgaon Fire Service were pressed into service. Two additional fire tenders from Maruti Udyog Limited and one from Air Force were also pressed into service. The GFS also requested the Delhi Fire Service to release four fire tenders fitted with snorkels to help them deal with the fire in the high-rise. However, the officials claimed that the fire was brought in control due to some quick and coordinated action. "Initially, we feared that fire could engulf other floors and even spread to other buildings. Had that happened, the fire tenders from Delhi would have been used and it would have taken us a long time to douse the flames. But, with some luck, we managed to prevent the fire from spreading further," said the Fire Station Officer, Sector-29 (Gurgaon), Aditya Sharma. Mr. Sharma said the fire personnel went into the building and opened the windows on the affected floor which allowed the smoke to escape, while the tenders kept spraying water from outside. Luckily, nobody was trapped in the building.
