BIDAR, JAN. 16. The newly formed Karnataka Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries Sciences University has ambitious plans of developing into an institution of excellence in the field of animal sciences research, training and extension. According to the Vice-Chancellor of the university, R.N. Srinivas Gowda, the institution has set itself short-term and long-term goals. While the university will immediately focus on research, training and extension in the near future, it will work towards contributing to the development of the country and State by providing consultancy to public and private organisations and participating in the implementation of government schemes.
Time-bound targets
The university will also make efforts to enable farmers face the challenges of globalisation, he said.
