Central Excise regains title

MAYILADUTHURAI, JAN. 16. Central Excise, Chennai regained the Kayathur R. Vaidyanatha Iyer Memorial Trophy, defeating Unique Cricket Club, also from Chennai by 50 runs in the final of the 12th annual State-level cricket tournament here on Sunday.

Central Excise 225 for nine in 40 overs (Jesu Babu Honeymen 44, C. Sanju 50) bt Unique CC 175 in 35.5 overs (C. Raghuram 54). Semifinals: Unique CC 167 for eight (Thirupathi Raja 64) bt Trusted CC 155 (J. Syed 49); Southern Railway Institute, Chennai 138 (S. Raghunath 69) lost to Central Excise 140 for one (K.C.
