BANGALORE, JAN. 16. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Council, B.M. Mangala, has demanded that parking fee should not be collected in private places. In a statement, Ms. Mangala has said that as per the building bylaws, owners of private buildings, including schools, cinemas and commercial complexes, have to earmark a parking place in their premises. "But the owners misuse most of the parking space and collect fee from those who park their vehicles in the little space provided. This is illegal," she said. She suggested that a resolution demanding that owners of private complexes should stop collecting parking fee be adopted in the BMP Council.
