Woman hit by Minister's car

KOCHI, JAN. 16. The car of the Fisheries and Sports Minister, Dominic Presentation, hit a woman, Prasanna, 46, of Cherthala, on Sunday morning at the Edappally Bypass Junction. Prasanna was alighting from a bus when the car of the Minister hit her. She was admitted to the Ernakulam Medical Centre.

Training

A two-day training programme for non-governmental organisations of central Kerala on `Torture Prevention', organised by the Torture Prevention Centre (ToP Centre), India, and the Office of the DIG of Police, Central Range, at Renewal Centre, Kaloor, was inaugurated by the Central Range DIG, R. Sreelekha, on Saturday. Kochi City Police Commissioner Dinendra Kashyap presided over the function. The programme, with 55 participants from Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki and Ernakulam districts, concluded on Sunday.
