Slain MLA's wife lodges complaint against Minister

By A Correspondent

RANCHI, JAN. 17. Shanti Devi, wife of the CPI (ML) MLA from Bagodar, Mahendra Singh, who was murdered yesterday, has lodged a complaint against the State Industries Minister and BJP MLA, Ravindra Ray and the Superintendent of Police of Giridih district, Deepak Verma.

Ms. Shanti Devi ruled out the involvement of ultra-left outfits in the killing of her husband. In the complaint she accused Mr. Ray and Mr. Verma of `abetting' the murder of her husband.

Mr. Singh's son, Vinod Kumar Singh today filed his nomination papers from Bagodar declaring an open war against "the group" responsible for the murder of his father.

The ultra-left MCCI denied any hand in the killing.
