HYDERABAD, JAN. 17. The long awaited appointment of chairpersons to corporations, a promise made by the Congress party to its leaders before elections, was finally over on Monday. A list of 34 names has been released. The party had promised its leaders that committed and loyal party workers would be rewarded for the sacrifices they had made for strengthening the party but were declined party tickets in the previous elections. More than 5, 000 applications flooded the office of the advisor to the Chief Minister on Public Affairs, K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao, in the last few months. Coming as it did after eight months, the completion of exercise has already dampened the spirit of Congress leaders.
