Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JAN. 17. The sky will be partly cloudy on Tuesday with a minimum temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius. On Sunday Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 30.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 20.4 and Meenambakkam 31.0 degrees and 19.6. Humidity was 73 and 79 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in parts of Melur, Mandaveli, Muthialpet, Sowcarpet, Purasawakkam, VOC Nagar, Kellys, Mannady and Muthialpet tomorrow for maintenance work. Supply will also be suspended in parts of Triplicane from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Computer course

A free three-month computer course will start on January 25 for unemployed candidates from the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. Those who have passed the higher secondary school certificate examinations and are below 27 can contact the sub-regional employment officer, Coaching-cum-guidance Centre for SC/STs, (District Employment Office premises), 56, Santhome High Road, III floor, Mylapore, Chennai 600 004 on January 24 and 25 for registration.

English workshop
