MADURAI, JAN.17. The trial in the Mayoorini murder case began in the court of the Principal District and Sessions Judge here today. Of the 17 witnesses summoned in the case, a city-based jeweller, Solamalai Thevar, and his wife, Rakkammal, deposed before the Judge, Arumuga Perumal Adityan. A Sri Lankan national, T. Mayoornini, studying in a city college, was found murdered in the first floor of a house at Anna Nagar on April 24, 2003.
