Workshop on combating child trafficking

TUMKUR,
JAN. 18.
Sunanda P.K., president of Tumkur Zilla Panchayat, inaugurated the one-day workshop on "Combating child trafficking in Tumkur district" at the Rural Education Development Society here on Monday. The workshop was jointly sponsored by the United Nations Children's Fund and the Government of Karnataka, and organised by Abhivriddhi and Campaign Against Child Labour (CACL). She praised the society for its social service in the district. P. Muniswamy, Superintendent of Police, said that several measures had been initiated to ensure the police keep strict vigilance against any attempts in child trafficking.
