KARIMNAGAR, JAN. 18. Succumbing to pressure from naxalites, the en masse resignations of the local body representatives belonging to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) are continuing in the district. Freshly, the Vemulawada mandal local bodies representatives have announced their resignation en masse to their posts as well as the party on Tuesday. The leaders include the Vemulawada MPP, T Ravinder Goud, the vice-president, Anjani Kumar, the co-option member, Syed Rafi, the sarpanches and MPTC members of Lingampalli, Konaipalli, Mallaram, Chekkapalli, Sankepalli and Archanapalli. Besides, some TRS cadres have also announced their resignation to the party posts. The husbands of some women sarpanches and MPTC members have also announced resignation to the posts and party positions occupied by their wives. They stated that the village atmosphere was totally disturbed following the failure of peace talks with the naxalites and they asked the Government to resume talks with the naxalites unconditionally and ensure peace in the villages. They also stated that they were unable to reside in the villages due to the present volatile situation.
