HYDERABAD, JAN. 18. The Labour Minister, G. Vinod, today sought the cooperation of captains of industry for the development of the State and to create more employment. Addressing a State-level meeting of employers here, he assured the Government's full support to employers and asked them to come up with suggestions to boost the economy. "Let us work together to make Andhra Pradesh grow, glow and create more employment," he said. "We will make available power supply, simply taxation and other procedures and do everything to improve productivity and generate profits so that everyone is comfortable," Mr. Vinod said. He would hold a meeting of the Government, employers and employees including trade union representatives, in an effort to improve the industrial economy. The Principal Secretary, Labour, Asha Murty, said profitability, efficiency and productivity depended on harmonious relations among the three parties. The Commissioner, Labour, Rani Kumudini, stressed the need for all concerned to sit together and set the tone for industrial future.
Plea for bill
The Confederation of Indian Industry, State Chairman, Ramesh Datla, spoke of simplification of labour laws and said Government should be a facilitator rather than just being a regulator. He said an industrial facilitation bill was required like in Karnataka. He suggested regulation of outsider participation in trade unions and increasing the ratio of internal office-bearers from 50 per cent to 75 per cent.
