Daylight robbery

CHENNAI, JAN. 18. In a daring daylight robbery, a retired 65-year-old air force officer was relieved of Rs.10,000 by a gang at Tiruninravur today. Selvanathan, a resident of Indira Nagar, Tiruninravur, came to a bank on the Tiruninravur Main Road to withdraw money at 11 am.

When he was returning home on a bicycle, a two-wheeler intercepted him from behind. One of the two men riding the two-wheeler snatched the bag containing the cash and escaped.

Tiruninravur police are investigating.
