Automation technology trends

CHENNAI, JAN. 19. A national conference on emerging trends in industrial automation will be held at Easwari Engineering College, Ramapuram, on January 21 and 22.

Over 40 papers will be presented in four technical sessions. Participants will discuss product life cycle management, quality and reliability, robotics technologies, rapid prototyping, energy conversion, and conservation techniques.

The conference will also focus on future fuels, new techniques to reduce power consumption, fuzzy logic, image processing and monitoring and diagnostic control instrumentation.

The Vice-Chairman of the University Grants Commission, V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, will inaugurate the conference. An exhibition on wheels called "Expotainer" built by a European company called Festo will be on display at the conference. The vehicle built for mobile exhibitions has a Volvo chassis. An array of both static as well as dynamic application displays will be mounted on the vehicle.
