CHAMARAJANAGAR, JAN. 19. The Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha President, Vatal Nagaraj, has urged the State Government to publish a White Paper on the special packages announced by it, in the coming Assembly session. Participating in a "Janasamparka Sabha'' at Yediyur village in the taluk today, he urged the Government to set aside Rs. 1,000 crores to supply drinking water in rural areas. He said that he will call for a Chamarajanagar bandh if the Government "fails" to declare the district drought-hit. He urged the Government to release Rs. 20 crores to provide drinking water in rural areas of the district. Mr. Nagaraj handed over cheques for Rs. 50,000 as compensation to Tayamma of Managala village and Rs. 20,000 to Mahadev Shetty who lost their houses in fire recently.
