Tamil journalist dead

CHENNAI, JAN. 19. The noted Tamil journalist, S.M. Karmegam, passed away last night. He was 65 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mr. Karmegam, who started his career with Sri Lanka's Tamil daily Veerakesari, later became Dinamani's News Editor. He has written books in Tamil and headed various organisations, including the Madras Union of Journalists.
