Letters to the Editor
Sir, Two aspects in the Tamil Nadu Government's handling of the Sankararaman murder case clamour for attention. A defendant in this case the Kanchi Sankaracharya, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi remains an accused until he is pronounced guilty. He is not an undeserving criminal and should not be treated as one. The second is the argument that the Acharya needs to be kept away from the Kanchi Mutt (and even south India) because he can tamper with the evidence. Does not the argument apply to the police too?
